RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) – ‘Juneteenth’ is a freedom celebration that dates back to June 19, 1865. When 250,000 blacks that were still in bondage after the emancipation proclamation finally got word that they were and had been free. The Elgeba Folkfore Society presents its annual Juneteenth celebration this weekend. Janine Bell, founder of the Elgeba Folkfore Society, shares more and event caterer Ausar prepares a tasty Moroccan Stew.
