The National Trust for Historic Preservation and Preservation Virginia convened local leaders and historians at a retreat to weigh in on why Shockoe Bottom matters as a Site of Conscience. The following video captures their vision for Shockoe Bottom’s future and why it matters as a Site of Conscience, and also features a Elegba Folklore Society’s very own Omilade Janine Bell.

Visit Preservation Virginia‘s for full details about the efforts being made to preserve the history of Schockoe Bottom.
