Elegba Folklore Society Presents: “African Dance, Music & the Oral Tradition” at Henrico Theatre

Elegba Folklore Society’s African dancers, musicians, singers and masquerade will present a concert, African Dance, Music & the Oral Tradi7on on Saturday, February 11, 7p in the Henrico Theatre, 305 E. Nine Mile Road, Highland Springs, Virginia. Admission is free.

This performance celebrates the rich culture and arts of the West African Manding cosmology
as showcased through the djembe orchestra with melodic balafon and kora instrumentation all integrated into choreographed stories about life that influence and relate universally. The masquerade highlights the concert and invokes its spirit. Interaction with the audience, as if in the village, will define the presentation that is open to all ages.
